By on 7th July 2009Internet based applications for wireless RFID readers
Idesco Oy, a leading RFID company based in Finland, and software company Norfello Oy have formed an agreement to work together for developing advanced solutions. The goal of these companies is to increase the RFID technology based applications with advanced possibilities of wireless readers and their remote control through internet.
Idesco Oy is one of the leading and longest established RFID technology companies, located in Finland. The company applies its technology to create solutions for different situations and applications for example in person and vehicle identification and access control. The significant part of the company production is sold to European countries. The Idesco Cardea System was chosen for the finals in the year 2009 IFSEC international security industry awards in the access control product of the year series. www.idesco.fi
Published press release:
The base of this cooperation is in couple of years of common development projects, which has resulted Idesco to launch the wireless Cardea readers and a product series known as Access Touch, an embedded controller with a touch screen control panel. The wireless Cardea readers can work both as an independent reader units or connected to centralized controller. The independent readers do not need the communication cables anymore as they can form a network and communicate with the help of wireless radio with the central unit, through which it is made possible to for example change access control settings remotely. The radio network technology, which Idesco uses in its Cardea products, is standardized 2,4GHz 6LowPan -technology.
Norfello has established possibilities for direct communication through the internet with the Idesco readers. This makes it easier for the readers to connect to the network and makes it possible independently install the readers, reader surveillance and software updates practically from anywhere in the world. As the readers can be connected wirelessly to the local network, its possible to install and supervise the entire reader network with low expenses. This could be Access Control Entry, Exit, locking of doors, Time&Attedence, Access Rights, Logistic Area, Parking area and the whole building including events in Exhibition Areas.
In the future, the cooperation between the two companies will result in introduction of new applications both in utilization of RFID technology and in different sensor technology applications. The goal is to be able to provide better services and applications for both end customers and user application integration companies resulting, that Idesco technology can be efficiently integrated into customers systems. Ultimately the increasing demands for improved technologies and easier applications can be done through internet connected readers and sensors to customers systems.

By on 2nd July 2009FinvoiceLib 0.1.5 released
…and second cool thing for today is the release of the FinvoiceLib:
Finvoice is one of most commonly used XML dialects used for electronic invoicing in Finland.
One of the major drawbacks of this format has been the lack of commonly available libraries for reading this format. This is exactly why Norfello developed an open source library for reading the format. With this library you can easily incorporate the receiving of Finvoice based messages to your software.
FinvoiceLib consists of two main components: Reader and FinvoiceWrapper. The Reader component is the heart of the library as it encapsulates the full finvoice 1.2 message to a class based structure. This class structure can then be used access every single element found in the message. The second component, FinvoiceWrapper, wraps the most commonly used elements to a convinient helper class, that allows to access any of available elements with only a one single line of code!
